It's A Hard Knock Life

I've been running on stress level Alpha. I told Steven that I needed some 'me time' this weekend. Alone... Quiet...

ALONE.

His response, "Did I miss something?"

"Er, no. Why?"

"Did you get your edits?"

"No."

"Then... what's there to stress about?"

"Well," I took a huge breath, "I told Casey that I'd try to finish my novel by the 15th. It's NEVER going to happen. UGH! I just don't have the time and I'm so ... STRESSED!"

"About what, exactly? The lunches with the girls? Seeing flowers?"

Somehow I don't think he appreciates just how complicated my life is. I put my hands on my hips. "I have stuff to do. I'm busy."

"Yeah, like... figuring out plans for the dragon boat races?"

"Exactly."

Which reminds me, I need to run down and purchase tickets for that. It's next Tuesday! Woo hoo. Can't wait.

And here's Miss Bekah at lunch today:

  1. It's a hard knock life, for us;
Instead of kisses, we get kicks...

Guess a song just doesn't go with your post. :-) Can't wait for the races! When are you going to get tickets?

  4. Just tell him that your "me" time is your version of WoW except with more regenerating and less XP grinding. He'll know what that means, even if you don't.

And... dragon boat races? I need to stop reading your 'blog before I start trying to figure out how to move my wife and me to Okinawa. hahaha

  7. You poor thing! lol. Though I'll admit I demand "me" time every Saturday. I leave for a couple hours. It's better for everyone, really. I come back much nicer.

  8. This is my story:

Me: I need time alone this weekend with the girls cause I'm stressed.

Hubby: But I think I have to go play hockey saturday.

Me: What do you mean you HAVE to?

Hubby: well Steve (his friend) is having me sign my life insurance forms and its the only time we can make to meet up.

    Me: What about Sunday?

Hubby: Look, I'm just going to have to go play hockey because I don't want to wait any longer. I could die between now and then.

Oh so in order for my children to have a secure future, my husband HAS to play hockey Saturday. sigh. Why do they think we are this gullible?

  10. I totally know what you mean!

Um, I guess the keyword is *try* when it comes to getting our drafts done by the 15th. But... I expect you to get a lot done, at least.

    *Look of doom* Be. Afraid.

    :p

    Bekah is adorable!

  11. I don't *THINK* ITT is open Sunday, but I'm not 100% sure either way.

Are you picking up the group's tickets?

Or are we all on our own? If so, I guess I need to get dressed today...

  13. Chris is finally on board with the notion that I am a busy woman. I rarely have time for anything other than lunching, coffee dates, and sightseeing with my SAE girls. I don't even have time to make posters for daycare anymore.
